Tyger Campbell has committed to UCLA and HC Steve Alford.
The No. 72 ranked player in the class of 2018 by 247 Sports, Campbell chose the Bruins over DePaul, Maryland and Purdue.
“I am excited to announce my commitment to play for the UCLA Bruins! #blessed,” Campbell tweeted.
An elite player at an early age, Campbell told ZagsBlog at the Chick Fil A Classic in 2016 that he believes it helped his development significantly.
“It’s definitely benefited me,” Campbell said. “I was playing against older guys back then, and by the time I’m a senior, I’ll be playing against guys in college who are heading off to the league. It’s helped me playing against bigger, stronger guys.”
As for someone he models himself after, Campbell said he modeled his game after a couple high level NBA PG’s.
“I really love the way that Chris Paul plays,” Campbell said. “He’s a smaller guy, Isaiah Thomas. What they do, and how they get going, as well as how good of leaders they are, I like watching that.”
Campbell joins Jules Bernard, David Singleton, Moses Brown and Kenneth Nwuba in the class of 2018 for the Bruins.
